More project

Another update. As you can see I have made the ship way too big. I kind of wanted it to be the same distance from the hero as the observatory, but the preliminary sketch was this size and it turned out so well that I no longer wanted some teeny weeny ship in the background. So now I have to figure out a way to make the ground around the ship appear closer than that under the observatory. I have an idea. We'll see how it works.

Here is a close up. BTW, I will be taking final pics of this with a much better camera than my 1.3 mp phone camera.

Nice work Micheal. I like how you show your work in progress on your blog. Keep up the good work man. I see you also have other blogs. I'm definitely going to check them out. Thanks for the comment on my schoolbus illustration.

Great work so far mate. You said it yourself, on the earlier post, that starting with the background first is the key! Otherwise you get stuck trying to paint around the foreground. I admire you though because I haven't picked up a paintbrush is years.

If you haven't seen it already here is an amazing post of Scott Wills showing off his mad BG skills. http://pumml.blogspot.com/2010/10/samurai-jack-painting-demos.html The way he layers his work his lovely to watch.

Thanks for the comment on the blog and keep up the great work :)
